Grafton Everest: Proudly South African

Date

Over the past few years the ‘proudly local’ trend has gained amazing momentum in SA. We’re no longer a country that only looks overseas to look ‘cool’, but rather supports local businesses, artisans and brands.

As a proudly South African manufacturer, Grafton Everest wholeheartedly supports the revived appreciation for local business. “As a local company we know how tough the market can be and it’s exciting to see the support that South African brands are gaining. Whether it’s food, fashion, coffee or technology, it’s fantastic to see the well-deserved recognition for local talent”, says Amy Whittam.

Established in 1958 as a South African company, Grafton Everest has a long and proud history of manufacturing all its products in South Africa. Gradually building a reputation for excellent comfort, quality, durability and a variety of styles, the furniture manufacturer has become a hallmark brand in SA.

As the company grew over the years, so did its production facilities, and today Grafton Everest employs over 800 people. With nearly 70 years of experience GraftonEverest has many artisans and specialists who have been with the company for 20 or more years. This means the company has the best of both worlds: hands-on experience in what it takes to craft superior furniture and fresh ideas and new methods brought in by younger artisans.

“As an established company we pride ourselves on knowing our customers and what they are looking for when it comes to lounge furniture. At the same time, we know that furniture styles must evolve and also appeal to a variety of tastes, which is why we regularly update our range”, says Amy Whittam.

Grafton Everest has always been a proudly South African company and its dedication to quality and the specific needs of local consumers has ensured the company’s continued success.
